DIRECTOR OF GOLF
Have you been dreaming of a spectacular golf course with equally spectacular views? At Mountain Air, we've done more than dream about it - we've created it. In fact, Links magazine raves about our golf course, calling it "one of the most dramatic and naturally conceived courses in the country." Golf Digest nominated it for "Best New Private Course of 1995." With 70 degree mid-summer temperatures and 100-mile panoramic views, this course is guaranteed to exceed your every expectation.
With elevations up to 4,600 feet, you'll love playing our championship 18-hole course, the third highest golf course east of the Mississippi. Built on top of Slickrock Mountain, it's an immaculate course of 6,425 yards, par 70, and a slope of 134 from the men's tee. From highest to lowest point, the course drops a remarkable 900 feet in elevation. And from the emerald greens to the long lush fairways (the hang time on some tee shots is nearly 10 seconds), it's a course that always challenges and exhilarates.
Architect Scott Pool carved the course into the very contours of Slickrock Mountain, weaving ribbons of green through dense hardwood forests and sheer outcroppings of granite. Hundreds of boulders weighing thousands of tons were meticulously stacked to create dramatic tees unlike anything you've ever seen. Streams, waterfalls, and ponds punctuate the magnificent course with glimmers of crystal blue and sparkling silver.
With the addition of a new nine holes of golf, currently under design, Mountain Air will be the only mountaintop community to offer 27-holes of championship golf. We've also added a full range of golf facilities, located in the Lost Chimneys Golf Learning & Performance Center, all designed to meet the exacting standards that define our world-class amenities. From its driving range to the short game practice area and our planned golf library, tennis village, swimming pool and more, this facility is a place where the whole family can enjoy being active together.
