Patryk Battle named Head Gardener at Mountain Air
At the Mountain Air Community Garden – where we grow organic herbs, vegetables and flowers for use by Mountain Air’s chefs – residents have the opportunity to create and maintain their own garden plots. Our Head Gardener, well-known organic gardener Patryk Battle, oversees care of garden and creation of related programs.
Many in western North Carolina know Patryk as one of the passionate hosts of WCQS’s “In the Garden” show. Others know him through his Burnsville farm – Pat and Carl’s Organics – or through the sustainable farming program he teaches at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Some may recall his award-winning years as Head Gardener at the renowned Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
